TRAINING:  Training varies greatly from day to day based on the intensity of the workouts.  2-3 sessions per day involving drilling, technique, sparring, live grappling, strength and conditioning.  6 days a week.  7th day is a recovery day with massage and ice bath.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I began fighting after my wrestling career ended. My striking coach Joe Panariello's son was best friends with my youngest brother Bradley. When I would see him he would ask me if I ever thought about doing MMA. I was hesitant, but eventually I agreed to try a few stand-up mitt lessons with him. As soon as I punched and kicked my first Thai pad I knew this is what made me happy and the rest is history.

What ranks and titles have you held? Two-time Suffolk County wrestling finalist, Suffolk County wrestling champion, New York State high school wrestling champion, JUCO National Finalist 165 lbs, 5th place at D-III National Wrestling Championships 174 lbs, Amateur Kickboxing Champion, Ring of Combat 155 lbs Champion

Do you have any heroes? There are a few men in wrestling and MMA that I look up to and seek to emulate as much as possible: Cael Sanderson, Frankie Edgar, Jon Jones, Kyle Dake. These men have exhibited greatness inside and out of their respective sports and I hold them in very high esteem.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? This means the world to my family and I. I quit my regular career a few years back in order to pursue a career as a UFC fighter. The UFC and its belt have been my goal for a long time and I am extremely grateful for this amazing opportunity.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I have attended multiple colleges. Unfortunately I have over 100 credits but have yet to obtain my degree as a result of a change in majors. I will eventually complete my degree later down the line because it is something that I would like to have. But currently I do not have my college degree.

What was your job before you started fighting? Before I changed over to full-time fighting I worked for the sole Budweiser distributor on Long Island at Clare Rose. I made a lot of lifelong friends in the years I spent there and I will never forget those guys, who continue to support me. They call themselves the Bud guys.

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? Undefeated amateur kickboxer and MMA, two-time college wrestling All-American
