Duffy to Face Poirier in Dublin Main Event

The UFC's return to Dublin, Ireland on Saturday, October 24 now has a main event, as rising Irish star Joe Duffy faces his toughest UFC test to date in the number 14-ranked lightweight contender, Dustin "The Diamond" Poirier.

Tickets for UFC FIGHT NIGHT® DUBLIN, which takes place at The 3Arena, will go on sale to UFC FIGHT CLUB members at 10:00 a.m. IST on Wednesday September 2 with Sun+ subscribers also getting priority access from 12:00 p.m. IST on Wednesday. Tickets will become available to UFC Newsletter subscribers on Friday September 4 at 10:00 a.m. IST with general sale taking place from 12:00 p.m. IST.

A native of Donegal, the 27-year-old Duffy roared onto the UFC scene in 2015 with back-to-back first-round finishes of Jake Lindsey and Ivan Jorge, the latter bout earning "Irish" Joe Performance of the Night honors. Now, the last man to beat current interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor will face off with Louisiana's Poirier, a longtime 145-pound contender who has found new life in his return to the lightweight division, picking up a pair of Performance of the Night bonuses for his knockouts of Diego Ferreira and Yancy Medeiros.
