Thursday Morning Fight Updates

UFC 190's fight week has not stopped the matchmaking machine for upcoming Octagon events, with three bouts verbally agreed to over the last 24 hours.

With New York's Chris Wade forced out of his UFC Fight Night bout against Olivier Aubin-Mercier on August 23 due to injury, Colorado's Tony Sims, fresh off a spectacular knockout of Steve Montgomery in his UFC debut in June, will return to the Octagon in Saskatoon to face "The Quebec Kid" in lightweight action.

Moving on to Japan, and September 27th's event at Saitama Super Arena, local favorite and the number eight-ranked bantamweight in the world, Takeya Mizugaki, will look to snap a two-fight losing streak and get back in the title race when he faces George Roop.

Finally, the big boys of the UFC will face off in Houston, as Lousiana standout Shawn Jordan gets a semi-home game against hot prospect Ruslan Magomedov. Jordan has won three straight, all by knockout, with his finishes of Jared Cannonier and Derrick Lewis earning him Performance of the Night bonuses. Winner of eight in a row, Magomedov has defeated Viktor Pesta and Josh Copeland since debuting in the Octagon in 2014.
