A UFC superstar and former light heavyweight champion, Forrest Griffin (fighting out of Las Vegas, Nev. / professional record 17-6) knows what it takes to be successful in the Octagon™. Coming off of a split-decision victory over Tito Ortiz in a highly anticipated rematch, Griffin looks to build off of this victory in his quest to regain the light heavyweight title. Standing in his way will be a difficult challenge. Half of one of the most respected brother duos in mixed martial arts, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil / 18-3) has plans of his own in the light heavyweight division. Holder of a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Nogueira also has impressive boxing skills which he used in his UFC debut to dismantle Luiz Cane via first round TKO. Fireworks are sure to be produced when these two veterans of the sport collide.
Coming off a three-round war with MMA legend Wanderlei Silva, Michael Bisping (fighting out of Manchester, England / 19-3) is back with victory on his mind. The U.K. superstar with devastating stand-up ability looks to impose his will on another veteran of the UFC in Dan Miller (fighting out of Whippany, N.J. / 11-3, 1 NC), an accomplished wrestler who was recently awarded his black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu from Renzo Gracie black belt Jamie Cruz. Miller and Bisping are both hungry for a victory in what is sure to be an exciting matchup.
Storming on to the scene with a vicious seven second knockout of Tim Hague, Todd Duffee (fighting out of Las Vegas, Nev./ 6-0) certainly got the attention of the heavyweight division, and the Evansville, Indiana native looks to build off that win when he takes on a difficult challenge in Mike Russow (fighting out of Chicago, Ill. / 12-1, 1 NC). A three-time Division I national qualifier in wrestling, Russow hopes his strong wrestling background and world-class experience will help him put together back-to-back victories inside the Octagon.
A winner of four of his last five fights, including two in the lightweight division, Diego Sanchez (fighting out of San Diego, Calif. / 23-3) will be returning to the welterweight class on May 29th. An excellent grappler with a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Sanchez looks to bring his tenacious brand of fighting back to 170-pounds when he takes on John Hathaway (fighting out of Brighton, Sussex, England / 13-0) Hathaway is a 22-year-old fighter and a winner of his first three fights in the UFC. Hathaway has victories over Tom Egan, Rick Story, and Paul Taylor and looks to continue his hot streak when he welcomes Sanchez back to the welterweight division.
Amir Sadollah (fighting out of Richmond, VA. / 4-1) used his impressive skill-set as a fighter to win the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter®, and has used this and his eccentric personality to capture a growing following of fans. The well-rounded native of Brooklyn, N.Y. faces a difficult challenge when he takes on undefeated welterweight Dong Hyun Kim (fighting out of Busan, Korea / 12-0-1, 1 NC). A fourth degree black belt in judo, Kim intends to keep his perfect record intact when he faces Sadollah on May 29th.
An accomplished wrestler, Efrain Escudero (fighting out of Tempe, Ariz. / 13-1) used his wrestling skills en route to winning the eighth season of The Ultimate Fighter®. With UFC victories over Phillipe Nover and Cole Miller, Escudero looks to continue his winning ways against Dan Lauzon (fighting out of Bridgewater, Mass. / 12-3). The 22-year-old Lauzon has been training MMA since he was 13 and hopes his boxing and jiu-jitsu skills will propel him to victory over a difficult opponent.
A 10-fight veteran of the UFC, New Orleans, Louisiana native Melvin Guillard (fighting out of Albuquerque, NM / 42-9-3, 1 NC) knows his way around the Octagon. Victorious in three of his last four fights, Guillard hopes his new approach to training with coach Greg Jackson will help rejuvenate his career while he climbs up the ranks in the lightweight division. His opponent is another UFC veteran, Thiago Tavares (fighting out of Florianopolis, Brazil / 18-3-1). Tavares touts slick submissions skills and vicious Muay Thai striking ability, which the 25-year-old Brazilian plans to use in order to top the experienced Guillard.
A winner of three of his last four fights, Luiz Cane (fighting out of Sao Paulo, Brazil / 11-2-1) is an impressive force in the light heavyweight division. With wins over Jason Lambert, Rameau Sokoudjou, and Steve Cantwell, Cane has defeated some stiff competition. His opponent is UFC newcomer Cyrille Diabate (fighting out of Le Celle St Cloud, France / 15-6-1). Standing at 6-foot-6, Diabate is currently on a five-fight winning streak and looks to extend that streak in his Octagon debut.
A well rounded fighter, Aaron Riley (fighting out of Albuquerque, NM / 28-12-1) has abundant experience in the world of mixed martial arts. The Tell City, Indiana native will be taking on a relative newcomer to the UFC, Joe Brammer (fighting out of Des Moines, Iowa / 7-1-1). The Iowa fighter is making only his second UFC start and he is hungry to collect his first victory when he takes on Riley.
A contestant on the third season of The Ultimate Fighter, Jesse Forbes (fighting out of Tempe, Ariz. / 13-5) has a strong wrestling background. A junior college All-American, Forbes hopes his wrestling experience will propel him to victory over his opponent Ryan Jensen (fighting out of Omaha, Neb. / 15-5). A fighter that prefers to stand and throw leather, Jensen looks to get back to his winning ways when squares off with Forbes.
