When and why did you start training for fighting? My father is a lover of boxing and MMA, and I started training, thanks to him, at the age of 16. I did it as a hobby and I quickly knew that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
What professional titles have you held? Finished my 7 professional wins
Any accomplishments in amateur combat sports? Won 9 amateur fights.
Any belts/ ranks in grappling disciplines? BJJ blue belt
What has been your toughest fight to date and why? My hardest fight was against Castro, because I broke my hand in the first round and I kept fighting until I finished it in the 2nd round.
Who is your favorite fighter and why? My favorite fighter is Jon Jones, because he is a very intelligent and very complete fighter in all areas.
What was your job before you started fighting? I helped my parents in the family business.
Origin of nickname: As a child, I really liked the movie The Great Vagrant Castle, and even more so the character of Calcifer who is a flame/fire. I gave an important meaning to this character to which I changed a few letters of his name to customize it as Kalzifer.
Personal Life / Background: My hobby is to watch documentaries of different things to know about many different topics. I have a 2-year-old daughter, and her name is Emily; she and my wife live in Peru and I see them after each fight. My father still lives in Moyobamba, the city where I was born and I lived all my adolescence. I also see him after each fight. I'm the first Moyobamba fighter to reach major leagues like the UFC. I'm the youngest of three siblings. I had to leave my family in Peru to join the Chute Boxe team and achieve my goals.
