Dana White's Contender Series, Season 8

Episode five (9/10/24) Musasa won a three round split decision over Otari Tanzilovi

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started 9 years ago in Congo.

Any accomplishments in amateur combat sports? Amateur Boxing - Katanga Regional Champion. Two-time Amateur MMA Champion of Congo at Bantamweight 2020 and 2021. Never lost a round; all wins by knockout.

What has been your toughest fight to date and why? My fight against Gasmire Diatta at AKO 1, because Diatta has exceptional power and technique. He is the only one who has managed to survive up to the second round with me. Unfortunately for him, I knocked him out early in the 2nd.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No, my family did not have enough money.

What was your job before you started fighting? I was working as a mechanic’s assistant.

Origin of nickname: It's a name the crowd gave me when I was fighting in the Congo. People called me "sorcerer of the knockout" in Swahili (an African language). "The Knockout Wizard" is the English version.

Background: Not much. No kids, just training and fighting. I grew up in Congo all my life, trained there, and never left the country, except for fighting and coming back. I believe I will be the first guy training in a local Congolese gym to make it to the UFC. And I am coming there for the belts. I am happy to showcase my skills in front of the world.
