When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training MMA six years ago, and the reason why I started fighting is because I wanted to test myself. Already being a high-level grappler, I know I’m special and have what it takes to be a champion.

What ranks and titles have you held? I’m six-time jiu-jitsu world champion in IBJJF and Abu Dhabi pro.

Do you have any heroes? Many heroes like Demian Maia, Sheetara (Mayra Bueno Silva), Pedro Munhoz.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means everything in the current stage of my career. It’s everything I’ve been working for, and where I belong, but it is just the beginning of a great journey.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I went to college for law school, but didn’t end up exercising it. But I specialized in sales and consulting.

What was your job before you started fighting? I was a competing professional in jiu jitsu, traveling the world to competitions and seminars.

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? Not really - only fought one amateur fight and won.

Ranks in any martial arts styles: Jiu-jitsu black belt - second degree

Favorite grappling technique: Top pressure, armbars, leglocks, twister, omoplata.

Favorite Striking technique: Boxing, knees, elbows, ground-and-pound
